Recounts the life of H. Leo Boles, recognized in his lifetime as one of the last pioneer preachers in the tradition of Alexander Campbell, Barton W. Stone and "Raccoon" John Smith. Boles' great-grandfather.

With his decision to preach, Boles moved to Nashville to enroll in Bible classes at the Nashville Bible School. Later David Lipscomb appointed him to teach Bible classes and even later nominated him to be president of the school (later named David Lipscomb College). Boles was a staff writer for the "Gospel Advocate" and eventually its editor. His influence through the pulpit, Christian education, and Christian journalism made him one of the most influential religious figures of his day.
